Poet Jeanne d’Orge created an arts center in 1948 to honor her late husband, local inventor Carl Cherry. For over seven decades, the Carl Cherry Center for the Arts has strived to stay true to its original mission of presenting quality and diverse artistic, educational and cultural programs to the residents and guests of Monterey County.
The Cherry Center is housed in the couple’s former home on the northwest corner of Fourth and Guadalupe. They are extremely fortunate to have a team of caring neighbors dedicated to the improvement and upkeep of its extensive grounds.
